Concrete Patio Contractors in Toronto for Durable and Modern Outdoor Spaces
Concrete patios don’t rot, crack easily, or need much upkeep. They hold steady through Toronto’s freeze and thaw. They look clean. They last.
A&A Concrete, part of A&A Masonry, has been building patios since 2008. We’ve done hundreds. We’ve got 800+ reviews and 15 HomeStars awards. Clients across the GTA trust us to get it right the first time.
We pour slabs. We install patio stones. We build poured concrete patios that stay solid for years. Choose simple or stamped finishes. Either way, your new patio won’t shift or split. You won’t be sealing it every year or patching corners after every winter.
If you want a space that works for real use, not just pictures, we’ll build it.
What You Get with a Custom Concrete Patio in Toronto
Concrete patios don’t all look the same. We build what fits your space. Big or small. Clean or detailed. Straight slab or patterned finish.
You can go with poured concrete, patio slabs, or concrete stones. Each works for backyards, side yards, or front entries. Some clients want a smooth surface. Others go for exposed texture or stamped patterns. We install all types, matched to the layout of your property.
No wood. No rot. No high maintenance. Just a solid surface that stays flat and holds up year after year. If you want steps, we form those too. Need it levelled or raised? We’ve done it. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting and what it’ll cost before we start.
Why Homeowners in Toronto Choose A&A Concrete for Patios
People hire us because they want it done once and done right. We’ve been working in the GTA since 2008. We’ve built patios for every type of property—tight backyards, wide open lawns, sloped walkouts, corner lots.
A&A Concrete is part of A&A Masonry, a top-rated company with over 800 reviews and 15 HomeStars awards. We don’t sub out jobs to random crews. Our in-house team handles your build from start to finish. You deal with the same people who show up on site.
We don’t cut corners. We show up when we say we will. And we clean up when we’re done. That’s why homeowners call us back when it’s time to add stairs, walkways, or retaining walls.
Where Concrete Patios Work Best on Your Property
Some use patios for outdoor dining. Some need a clean surface for garden setups or hot tubs. Others just want something level that lasts.
Here’s where we typically install concrete patios:
- Backyards with outdoor seating or fire pits
- Side yards where grass doesn’t grow
- Front entryways or porches
- Raised patios with steps or landings
- Small lots where space is tight
- Replacements for failing stone or brick patios
- Walkouts from kitchens or basements
- Bases for sheds, planters, or storage bins
We also build concrete steps, stairs, and transitions where needed. If it’s uneven or sinking, we fix it. Your patio should match how you actually use the space.
Concrete Patio Finishes and Textures We Install in Toronto
Not all patios need to look the same. We offer finishes that change the look, feel, and grip of the surface. Some are smooth. Others have texture. Some are colored. Others expose the stone.
Here are the most requested finish options:
- Broom finish: Simple and slip-resistant
- Exposed aggregate: Stone texture with natural color
- Stamped concrete: Pressed patterns that mimic stone or tile
- Acid stain: Rich color depth with a mottled surface
- Smooth trowel: Clean and modern but best for covered areas
- Pressed concrete patterns: Repeated surface texture for grip and detail
- Polished concrete: Reflective and clean but not ideal for winter use
We help you pick what fits your property and how you plan to use the space. If the surface needs to match steps, walkways, or other concrete work, we’ll line it up.

Why a Concrete Patio Makes Sense for Toronto Homes
Wood warps and shifts with the weather. Concrete doesn’t. It stays flat through the freeze-thaw cycle and handles Toronto’s temperature swings better than almost anything else you can build outside.
Adding a concrete patio gives you more usable space without the cost of a full renovation. Some clients want a quiet seating area. Others want a platform for cooking or an outdoor structure. We build for both. And if you’re budgeting for it, you don’t need to guess.
According to the HomeStars Toronto cost guide, concrete projects in the city average around $8,555, with decorative work coming in at about $5,642. These numbers come from over 4,000 verified reviews, so they reflect what real homeowners are paying.
Most backyard patios fall in the middle of that range, depending on the size and finish. If you need custom stairs, walls, or a tear-out of an old slab, it’ll shift the price. But you’ll know upfront. No hidden charges.
Concrete also works well with low-maintenance landscaping. Add pavers, planters, or gravel around it and reduce water use while keeping the space clean. You can review the City of Toronto’s landscaping guidelines here.
You’ll get a space that works year-round. You won’t be restaining boards or pulling weeds through cracked bricks. Just solid surface, solid value.
Concrete Patio Projects Client Reviews Across Toronto
We don’t just say we build well. People in Toronto back us up. We’ve fixed cracked slabs, replaced sinking stone patios, and rebuilt entire backyard spaces that were falling apart.
Some clients came to us after trying DIY. Others had patios built decades ago that finally gave out. We removed what didn’t work and poured clean, level surfaces that do.

Interlocking Stone Front Patio And Walkway
We are incredibly happy with the work that was done on our front walkway and patio. The original state of it was not great, as you can see by the pictures. The original flagstone was cracking and falling off, resulting in a fairly dangerous walkway.
We called A&A Masonry, and received a quick response. MaryAnna and Morgan were super helpful in arranging and facilitating the job. Bill and Thomas came and cleared out the old and did an amazing job installing the new. Not only did they install the interlocking stone but they were incredibly helpful in their suggestions and went above the call of duty to make sure that it looked great.
For example, if they followed the grade of the driveway, the patio would have too much of a slope, so they planned to flatten the patio out and have it raised above the level of the driveway. The problem was that the stone we had purchased for the border did not have an external face.
Bill and Thomas took back part of the stone and exchanged it at the vendor (Boulders) for border stones with an exterior face that would match the front stone step. Bill and Thomas worked quickly and finished the job in only a few days.
I am incredibly pleased with the experience we had, and unreservedly recommend A&A Masonry for whatever you might need. We will definitely be using them again. Huge thanks to the team at A&A!

Front Patio Refinishing
Our large front patio needed to be re-leveled and have some of the stone work repaired and replaced. Bill and his team did a high quality job refinishing the front patio. They were able to do the job within a week of first calling over the course of 2 days. They also did a great job matching the existing stonework where new stones needed to be brought in.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the quality of work, the responsiveness of the team, and the professionalism throughout the job.

Patio And Walkway
The project was quoted by salesman and started when the weather finally got better. It was a great deal of work but we appreciated the minimal disruption to the existing landscaping. A large amount of material was removed and replaced with concrete and flagstone in an orderly fashion. The finished project is beautiful and we are very satisfied. All facets of the project were completed as promised and changes, when requested, were fulfilled.

FAQs
Concrete Patio FAQ for Toronto Homeowners
How much does a concrete patio cost in Toronto?
Most patios fall between $5,000 and $12,000, depending on the size, layout, and finish. Stamped or exposed aggregate costs more than basic broom finish. Based on HomeStars data, full concrete projects in Toronto average $8,555, while decorative work averages $5,642. We quote based on your site, not rough estimates.
Do I need a permit to build a concrete patio?
If the patio is flat and built at ground level, no. But if you’re adding height, railings, or drainage that changes slope, it’s best to check with Toronto Building Services. We’ll flag any issues during the site visit.
Can you fix or resurface my old patio?
Yes. If the base is still solid, we can resurface it. If it’s cracked, sunken, or shifting, we’ll quote for removal and rebuild. Most repairs are fast and clean.
How long does a concrete patio take to install?
Basic jobs take 3 to 5 days. Larger or decorative patios can go a bit longer. Cure time varies, but you can usually walk on it in 2 days and use it fully after a week.
Is stamped concrete slippery?
Not if it’s sealed with the right grip finish. We use anti-slip additives when needed, especially for areas with water or heavy foot traffic.
What’s the best finish for a patio in Toronto?
Broom finish is common. It gives grip and is fast to install. Stamped concrete looks like stone or brick and holds up well. Exposed aggregate adds texture and colour without extra design work.
Do I need to reseal the patio every year?
No. Every 2 to 3 years is enough. Sealing protects the surface from salt, stains, and wear. We can schedule it or recommend what to use.
